Day 5 collection shows weekday growth
‘Obsession’ collected an estimated Rs 2.75 crore net on its fifth day (Tuesday, June 2), according to Sacnilk data . This represents an increase from Monday’s Rs 2 crore collection, defying the typical weekday slowdown that affects most theatrical releases .
With this performance, the film’s total India net collection has reached Rs 12.50 crore, while its India gross earnings stand at approximately Rs 14.87 crore .

What the film is about
The story follows Bear (Michael Johnston), a lonely music store employee who has long harboured feelings for his coworker Nikki (Inde Navarrette). Desperate to make her fall in love with him, he buys a strange object known as the “One Wish Willow” from a mysterious crystal shop .
Although the wish initially seems to work, it unleashes horrifying consequences — Nikki’s love becomes extreme, possessive and emotionally disturbing, eventually spiralling into a terrifying obsession .

‘Obsession’ has already made history in North America, logging the highest second-weekend growth for any film outside the Christmas season in over four decades . It has also become Focus Features’ highest-grossing film in the region, surpassing ‘Downton Abbey’ .
With a reported budget of just Rs 7 crore, the film has crossed Rs 900 crore gross worldwide, representing a return on investment of nearly 150 times its production cost .
