Fitness coach and actor Mustafa Ahmed, who played the role of RAW agent Rizwan in Ranveer Singh’s blockbuster ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’, recently took to social media to reveal a little-known story about actress Yami Gautam’s dedication to fitness .
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Mustafa shared that he trained Yami for over four months while she prepared for her role in ‘Article 370’. But what many don’t know, he revealed, is that she continued training with him even after her pregnancy — mostly online whenever she wasn’t in Mumbai .
‘Toofani toddler at her feet’
The photo that accompanied the post, a slightly blurry video-call screenshot, captured a uniquely endearing moment. As Yami followed her workout routine, her toddler son Vedavid could be seen clinging to her feet .
“What you can’t see in this blurry picture is her little Toofani toddler at her feet, clinging on to her. That’s why we’re both smiling. And honestly, that’s exactly what makes this picture so special to me — and I hope to Yami as well,” Mustafa wrote in his post .
The actor added that what made the session even more memorable was where he was taking it from: standing in the queue outside the Coldplay concert in Abu Dhabi, waiting for the gates to open .
‘No excuses. No shortcuts. Just commitment.’
Mustafa revealed that they usually trained early mornings around 6:30 AM, but due to the time difference and his travel schedule, they planned this particular session later in the day .
“And despite everything, she still showed up. No excuses. No shortcuts. Just commitment,” he wrote, praising Yami’s unwavering discipline .
The fitness coach explained why he had sought Yami’s permission to capture and eventually share the moment. “I remember asking her if I could take this picture because I knew someday I could share it to show what real dedication looks like. When someone shows up with that kind of consistency and gives 100% every single session, how can you not give back 200% as a coach?” .
Yami’s response
Reacting to the touching note, Yami Gautam commented on the post, calling the picture special. “How sweet, Mustafa !!! Yes, this picture is indeed special! Love when my little Vedavid mirrors the workout. And thank you for being the most amazing coach. You are the best,” she wrote .
The man behind Rizwan
For those unfamiliar with Mustafa Ahmed, he is not just an actor but a well-known celebrity strength and conditioning coach who has trained several major Bollywood stars. His roster includes training Ranveer Singh for ‘Padmaavat’, guiding Vicky Kaushal during ‘Sardar Udham’, and working with Hrithik Roshan during his physiotherapy and recovery phases .
Mustafa made his acting debut with Aditya Dhar’s production ‘Dhoom Dhaam’ before being cast as the loyal RAW agent Rizwan in the ‘Dhurandhar’ films. His character, stationed in Pakistan and serving as Hamza Ali Mazari’s (played by Ranveer Singh) trusted right-hand man, has earned him significant recognition .
The ‘Dhurandhar’ franchise, directed by Aditya Dhar, has emerged as one of the biggest blockbusters of 2026, with ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ continuing the spy thriller saga following the success of its predecessor.
A lesson in dedication
Mustafa concluded his post with a message about Yami’s success. “I’ve always said this about you, @yamigautam — the success, respect, and love you receive isn’t luck. It’s the result of the discipline and dedication you bring into everything you do. And I’m truly grateful to witness and be a small part of that journey,” he wrote .
The post has since gone viral, resonating with fans and followers who praised the actress for prioritising her health and fitness even in the demanding early stages of motherhood.
