Los Angeles, CA – Taylor Sheridan, the prolific creator of hit series like Yellowstone and Landman, is stepping back in front of the camera for a surprise role in the third season of Lioness. The Paramount+ spy thriller, starring Zoe Saldaña and Nicole Kidman, will feature Sheridan in an on-camera capacity, reprising his character from a cameo in season two. Thad Luckinbill, who plays Kyle McManus, confirmed the news, praising Sheridan’s involvement.

“He’s involved. I mean, he has a role, which is great. And the show’s better for it when he plays a role,” Luckinbill told The Hollywood Reporter. “He’s a great character, and he kills it. So, I love when he comes in and plays with us.” Sheridan, who previously appeared as CIA officer Cody Spears, will share scenes with Luckinbill in the upcoming season. Before becoming a television powerhouse, Sheridan had on-screen roles in Sons of AnarchyVeronica Mars, and Yellowstone, making this return a natural fit.

Luckinbill emphasized that Sheridan’s passion for the project remains consistent whether he is acting, writing, or producing. “He’s so real. Whether he’s an actor, writer, director or a producer, he’s still the same guy,” he said. “He’s gonna give you the same opinions, and he cares the same about the product.” Matt Gerald, who plays Delta Force operator Cody J, teased that the stakes this season are “incredibly high, if not the highest yet,” with nonstop action from start to finish. The cast underwent extensive weapons and close-quarter combat training to prepare for the intense scenes.

According to Paramount+, the official logline for season three teases: “Hidden networks, foreign operatives and personal betrayals collide. Joe (Saldaña) walks the line between duty and home as unseen forces circle her world.” Lioness Season 3 premieres Sunday on Paramount+, promising a high-stakes continuation of the acclaimed spy thriller.
