TV actor Sanchita Ugale found dead

Television actress Sanchita Ugale, known for her roles in popular shows Kumkum Bhagya and Wagle Ki Duniya, was found dead at her residence in Nalasopara East on Sunday evening . She was 22 .

According to police, Ugale was found hanging at her residence in the Sai Santoshi building in Aachole village, Nalasopara East. She was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival . An Accidental Death Report (ADR) was registered at the Tulinj police station based on a complaint filed by her father, Machhindra Ugale .

A rising career cut short

Sanchita Ugale was steadily building her career in television, films, and OTT projects. She had recently gained recognition for her portrayal of Diya Tandon in Zee TV’s long-running show Kumkum Bhagya . She also played Ruchita Jaitley in the popular series Wagle Ki Duniya and appeared in films, including a role as the younger version of Tara Rani in the Vicky Kaushal-starrer Chhaava .

Investigation underway

A police official from Tulinj police station confirmed that the body was sent for post-mortem and that further investigation was in progress . While no suicide note has been recovered from the scene, police have not ruled out any possibilities and are examining the circumstances surrounding her death.

AICWA (All Indian Cine Workers Association) has demanded a high-level inquiry into the matter, clarifying that Sanchita was 26 years old, not 22, as widely reported in initial media accounts .

Condolences pour in

The tragic news has sent shockwaves through the television industry. Actor Aanchal Khurana reacted to the incident, alleging exploitation in the television industry. She claimed that actors are often replaced if they do not compromise their self-respect . Union Minister and actor Ravi Kishan also expressed grief, tweeting a prayer for her soul to rest in peace .
