Socialite and internet personality Orry, whose real name is Orhan Awatramani, has opened up about how he makes a living—and the numbers are staggering. In a candid interview, Orry revealed that he charges celebrities and high-profile individuals ₹15 lakh to ₹20 lakh to attend their birthday parties, weddings, or family gatherings.

In the interview with Bhajans Bollywood, Orry, who has become a ubiquitous presence at Bollywood parties and events, shared insights into his business model. He stated that he often receives offers from people wanting him to be a part of their celebrations. While he does not attend every event he is invited to, he confirmed that for those he does, the fee is substantial.

Beyond personal appearances, Orry also revealed how he brokers deals with brands and other businesses. One particularly lucrative deal involved an airline, where he earned a whopping ₹76 lakhs in a single transaction.

“I made ₹76 lakhs on just one deal with an airline,” he said. “I just used my voice. My voice was the product. I got a call that if I say this, you will get this much money. And I said yes.”

A luxury lifestyle funded by his brand

When the host humorously remarked that Orry’s expensive lifestyle—which includes jet-setting across the globe and wearing designer clothes—makes him look like a “billionaire,” the socialite corrected him.

“Billionaire? Who is a billionaire? I am just a guy trying to make a living,” he said. He claimed that his monthly expenses could be as high as ₹20-25 lakh a month. However, he justified these costs as business expenses, stating that living the lifestyle is essential to maintain the persona that makes him valuable.

“I need to show this image. I need to be at these places,” he said, explaining his high-end lifestyle as a necessary ‘cost of doing business’.

Inside Orry’s rise

Despite being known as Bollywood’s ‘best friend,’ Orry clarified that he has no paid retainer with any production house or film star to socialize with them. His earning comes purely from brand deals, collaborations, and the appearance fees for personal appearances.

His revelations come after he was named in the “World’s 100 Most Influential People” by a prominent global publication and have added a new dimension to the public’s perception of how the influencer economy operates in India’s celebrity circuit.

The video of the interview has since gone viral, with fans and netizens debating the economics of being a celebrity socialite in today’s India. While some called him “savage” for his honesty, others were simply astounded at the figures, revealing that for Orry, being seen is very much the business itself.
