The final trailer for DC Studios’ ‘Supergirl’ is here, and it showcases a cosmic clash of ideals and an explosive team-up. The nearly three-minute trailer offers the best look yet at the upcoming superhero film, revealing a defiant Kara Zor-El (Milly Alcock), a high-stakes mission to save her beloved dog Krypto, and the long-awaited debut of Jason Momoa as the interstellar bounty hunter Lobo .

‘He sees the good. I see the truth.’

The trailer opens with a terse exchange between Kara and her cousin, Kal-El (David Corenswet). Superman reaches out, clearly concerned about the young Kryptonian’s reckless, off-world adventures.

But Kara immediately pushes back against his optimistic worldview. “Here is the thing,” she says in the trailer. “My cousin and I have very different ideas about what it means to be a hero. He sees the good in everyone. I see the truth.” . This core conflict defines her journey; unlike Clark, Kara is depicted as a jaded, hard-edged warrior still carrying the trauma of Krypton’s destruction .

A Deadly Mission to Save Krypto

The action kicks into high gear when a ruthless alien known as Krem of the Yellow Hills (Matthias Schoenaerts) and his band of Brigands poison Krypto the Super-Dog. With only a short window to find the antidote, Kara reluctantly joins forces with a young girl seeking revenge for her father’s murder. .

The stakes are profoundly personal. The trailer underscores the fierce bond between Kara and Krypto, who seems to be her only family. “Home is wherever you are, buddy,” she tells Krypto, making her desperate quest to save him the emotional core of the film .

Enter Lobo: The Main Man

The undisputed highlight of the final trailer is the full reveal of Jason Momoa’s Lobo. Stepping away from his iconic role as Aquaman in the old DC continuity, Momoa fully embraces the cigar-smoking, chain-wielding, intergalactic Czarnian bounty hunter .

While the first teaser hinted at Lobo as an adversary, the final trailer suggests a complicated alliance. Footage shows Lobo riding his massive, flame-spewing ‘Spacehog’ motorcycle, hurling his chain at enemies, and even sarcastically telling Supergirl she’s “hurting his head” before downing a drink . Fans have eagerly praised the casting as perfect for the fan-favorite character .

‘Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow’

Directed by Craig Gillespie (‘I, Tonya’) and written by Ana Nogueira, the film is a direct adaptation of the critically acclaimed comic book series Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow by Tom King and Bilquis Evely . The story follows Kara on a violent, sci-fi odyssey across the galaxy.

After the events of 2025’s Superman, this film is the next chapter in James Gunn and Peter Safran’s new DC Universe (DCU). David Corenswet also appears in the film, and reports indicate that the two Kryptonian cousins share at least one scene played entirely in the Kryptonian language . The cast also includes Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, and Emily Beecham.
