Singer Mika Singh’s 99th property in India is a stunning Mumbai apartment worth a whopping Rs 50 crore, designed by none other than Bollywood’s favorite interior designer, Gauri Khan .
Known for his larger-than-life persona and a massive real estate portfolio of 99 properties across the country, Mika considers this particular apartment his primary residence. After a long wait and a humorous warning from Shah Rukh Khan, Mika finally got his dream home, and it is nothing short of a modern masterpiece.
From 8 Bedrooms to 5 Luxury Suites
The journey to owning this home was not straightforward. Mika had purchased six flats in the same building back in 2012, but legal complications delayed the handover until 2018 . After taking possession, he wanted nothing but the best for the interiors and requested Shah Rukh Khan to ask his wife, Gauri, to take up the project.
Recalling the incident, Mika told Pinkvilla, “I requested him that please ask Gauri bhabhi to do the interiors. He said ‘Nahi yaar, boht lootegi tumhe, boht mehenga karegi’ .” Despite SRK’s playful warning to scare him off, Mika persisted, and soon Gauri Khan took on the task.
Gauri had one strict condition for the singer: he was not to question any of her choices. Trusting her expertise completely, Mika did not visit the apartment during the two years it took to complete the project .
One of Gauri’s boldest decisions was to change the layout completely. Mika proudly shared, “This was an eight-bedroom flat, but Gauri Khan turned it into a five-bedroom flat” .
Green Sofa and a Regal Aesthetic
Mika admits he usually prefers beige and brown tones in all his houses. However, Gauri introduced a striking element that transformed the space: a bold green-colored sofa placed right in the center of the living room .
“Main hamesha beige ya brown colours use karta hoon, uske andar unhone ye green colour ka sofa daala hai!” (I always use beige or brown colors, but she has put a green-colored sofa) he recalled .
The home follows a sophisticated grey palette accented with green sofas and chairs, a white marble table, beige seating, and a vibrant yellow chair that adds a splash of colour .
Five-Star Amenities and Spiritual Corners
Mika describes the space as giving a “five-star hotel” feel . He pointed to a beige-toned room with striped wallpaper, calling it his “junior suite” where he hosts special guests.
